Phuket, Thailand´s biggest island and tourist magnet, that was visited by almost 10 million tourists per year before the pandemic, has many faces. Amapuri is it´s most beautiful and exklusive resort and definetey one of the best resorts in Asia. The Amanpuri was the first in Aman´s ultra-luxurious hotel empire and it was founded in 1988 by the legendary indonesian hotelier Adrian Zecha, a man with chinese and Bohemian family roots and an American education background. The resort is located at Phuket`s west coast at Pansea beach and it takes around 25 minutes to get there from Phuket airport. Amanpuri offers 40 Thai-style Pavilions and 30 private Villa Homes set within a rain forest coconut plantation and connected by elevated walkways. A towering Thai pavillion sits in the middle and the whole place offers great views of the Andaman sea. Amanpuri offers luxury facilites like four restaurants, a seductive black main pool, a great spa, but it also enchants by it´s secluded location and privacy. Though all beaches in Thailand are public this one can practically only be reached by the hotel. All in all a pricey but wonderful holiday destination.
