Monte Tauro is just a 100 room four star hotel in ultra modern concrete style from the 6oies. So why did we include it in our collection. Because it is extraordinary in it´s way. The location in Taormina ist top. Right in the center of it all but built into steep cliffs. So the luxury here are the exceptional views of the Ionian sea. Virtually every one of its rooms features a private balcony overlooking the infinity pool and the bay beyond. Opened in 1971 and totally refurbished in 2017 rooms are quite cosy – despite its concrete look from outside. You enter the lobby on the 8th floor, the rooms are in the seven floors below.All rooms feature dark hardwood floors, minibars,flatscreen TVs. Yes there is no lunch and dinner service but the breakfast is fine and you get small bites from the pool bar. All in all an experience where the luxury comes from the gorgeous views and the unusual architecture.
