Visit Bois Chéri, the first tea plantation in Mauritius that dates back to 1892.
This calm and secluded luxury resort on the northeast coast of Mauritius belongs to the top three resorts on the island. The guests are mainly adults and this is a place for relaxed privacy. The property that is member of the Leading Hotels of the World has 89 suites and villas. Most of them are under thatch and parquet floors, some sit on stilts, some have direct access to the beach. When it comes to food and drink everything is on high level. The wine cellar is one of the biggest in this part of the world with more than 25.000 bottles. There are three restaurants. The most romantic one is the Le Barachois, the only over-water-dining option on the island that can be reached only by a lantern-lit boardwalk. Then you could opt for the Asian restaurant with a Japanese touch including shusi, and the main restaurant is called L’Archipel. The Prince Maurice belongs to the Constance hotel brand and so golfers can use the beautiful golf course of the sister hotel Belle Mare Plage (about half an hour away). The same apllies to divers. Some may find this a nuisance. Of course there is a top spa, a gym, a library, and you take yoga lessons or go on a catamaran cruise. But most guests stay where they are in this resort on a private peninsula with generous 60 hectares of gardened land. All in all a perfect hideaway for couples with high demands.
